I had to move my studio and I can't get my XP-30 to send midi to my PC....bought a new midi interface so I think it's the keyboard problem. I've set the back switch to midi, set system-midi-local-off. Does anyone know anything else I could try? I don't use a lot of the other features so I'm wondering if I hit something by accident..should I try to reset it to factory settings? Would that help? Any advice would be so appreciated....super in love with these keyboard sounds and really want to continue using it!

Thanks,
Erica

Johannes replied: Hello,
weird, indeed. In your case, I would backup all my User Patches (easily via SysEX) and reset factory settings, no idea what the problem might be.
Another thing you might try is using the To Host Cable together with a Serial to USB converter, so you don't need the MIDI connection for the PC but can connect it to other devices (if you have).
I just bought one of these USB MIDI adapters and works like charm, basically giving you a USB interface to the XP-30.

But factory reset is the easiest way to check! Good luck

Recently acquired an XP30. 3 broke keys, headphone jack broke off. Ordered parts and easily replaced.

Initially, sounded fine through the L/Mono jack to a test amp.

After repair, headphone jack only works on left channel, left and right outputs only left channel worked, with both cables plugged in, but either output alone work fine.

Closer inspection revealed headphone jack sheared off L26 inductor.

Scoured for hours, found no source for schem/service manual.

Anyone know what value L26? Ayone have electronic copy of schem/service manual to send? Currently unemployed, so cost an issue. Like to get working stereo to record. Can use mono for live, but got 60/70's module, use lots of Hammond in funky-blues-rock band.

Very grateful if someone helps with a manual/schem, or even what value L26?. Not sure not something else wrong, but replacing component would be first.

Thank you,

Bud

Hi,

I've had the XP-30 since I bought it new about 10 years ago. Love it and, in all that time, I've never had to replace the internal battery. It's getting close to that time now and I have a replacement battery. I just can't find any information on how to put it in. I'd rather not take it to the local Roland repair guy because he charged me over $100.00 just to replace part of the "value" * * * a month or so back. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Admin,
Thanks for the advice. I changed the battery with a new one. The problem still persists. Parameter in the unified "system" which he remembers my XP30 is just a "shift key". This can be somewhere in the settings to block? Or is it a fault? I also have Roland V-synt, where the remains perfectly correct and logical.

Greetings to all on this excellent site. Please advice. I need to permanently set the instrument ladn half a tone lower. When I choose "system" and "pitch" and set up key shift "-1" and turn off the power, after power-up option "key shift" back to the value of "0". I change the fine-any other parameter in the "system" and "pitch" will be maintained even after shutdown with this change. My question then is: How to permanently stored in memory podladěn the XP30 half tone. Please help. All thanks in advance.

Johannes replied: Hi,
seems indeed strange but it is not the same with my unit. Maybe a backup battery problem?? But not sure the XP-30 has one!
Besides, I always change the pitch (if needed!! recently, I try to become familiar with all 12 tunes...) with the two octave up and down buttons, it's easier anyway.
But indeed strange!! Maybe someone got an idea??

Keep on rocking!
